Who we Are
Justice Development Initiative (JDI) Somalia is a non-profit legal organization founded by a group of young, dedicated, and forward-thinking Somali lawyers committed to justice, accountability, and social development.
We were established with a clear purpose: to strengthen the rule of law and ensure that legal knowledge, protection, and opportunity are accessible to all members of society—especially the most vulnerable. As an emerging generation of legal professionals, we combine legal expertise with community engagement, research, and advocacy to address systemic challenges within Somalia’s justice and governance systems.
JDI works at the intersection of law, human rights, and development. Through legal education, policy advocacy, and direct action, we strive to foster a legally empowered society that upholds human dignity, promotes equity, and supports sustainable development. We believe that strong institutions and informed citizens are the foundation of a just and inclusive society.
